Screen time is an increasingly large part of children's daily lives, from telehealth to socializing.
As part of her dissertation, Olivia conducted three mixed-methods studies that have identified children’s limited autonomy and mixed health implications of the digital media and telehealth they use.
She focused on uncovering the potential, from children's and parents' perspectives, for digital technology to be more health centered.
Methods:
longitudinal survey study with 46 parents of children with behavioral disabilities
interview study and surveys with 33 children (ages 7-12) and their parents
three design workshops with children 8-12 and focus groups with their parents
Overview of takeaways and design considerations will be added to the site soon 😀
