Understanding Children's Technology Routines
Screen time is an increasingly large part of children's daily lives, from telehealth to socializing.
Olivia's dissertation research involves three theoretically grounded mixed-methods studies that have identified children’s limited autonomy in the technology they use that impacts their health.
She has focused on uncovering the potential, from children's perspectives, for digital technology to offer children health choices to support child autonomy as part of digital experiences.
Methods:
diary study with 52 parents of children with behavioral needs
interview study with 33 children 7-12 and their parents
three design workshops with children 8-12 and focus groups with their parents
Overview of takeaways and design considerations will be added to the site soon 😀
